Title: floaty flocs
Post by: UpsidedownA (Andrew) on March 06, 2015, 05:16:09 PM
Just fermented a batch of home brew with ferments S-04. It's usually a good flocculation but this time, as well as settling on the bottom, there are gazillions of large flocs that float in the beer at various heights above the bottom, including the surface.

Anyone else had any experience of this? Do you know what causes it? Something in the wort, or co-flocculation behaviour with some other microorganism or something else? The green beer tastes fine but it is unsightly and you get bits in the glass when you serve it.
