Anyone interested in meeting during March or April? Its been months since I was last at a tasting in Fran Well. Would I be correct that there has not been a meeting yet in 2015 of Rebel Brewers club?
yeah we're definitiely due a meetup, I have a bottle of a Coffee Stout I made back in September so it should be nice and matured by now.
Definitely, any ideas about a date? Maybe we need a pole?
Or even a poll
Ok I have added a poll with the date options available. Usually the club has met on Friday nights so I have kept it to same. You will notice 3rd April missing from the options - that is 'Good Friday' and all pubs are closed then as far as I know.
Tapatalking, so I've not looked at the poll yet, but will row in with whatever suits the masses.
I have some medals and scoresheets so will bring these.
All medal winners should bring medals on the night for a photo.
We did very well as a club this time around guys
Bring samples of the winning entries!
Second best Club i think, Capital had 16, we had 8 then north county brewers had 7. But some of the results aren't up so figures might be off. Theres a small bit of mine left in the keg, ill keep some for the night.
As far as I am aware, best club is a weighted thing, so not necessarily a total of points or medals.
A couple more golds and we'd be in with a chance.
Next year
How did we get on in the barrel competition?

How did we get on in the barrel competition?
Not very well :(
We came a respectable 4th, just outside the top 3, so not too bad really.
The comment was 'needed more aging'.
It might make an appearance in a years time.
I dont have my scoresheets yet. it'll be interesting to see how my non-barrell, over bittered version did in comparison to the barrell contribution.
have a look there John. You have my sheets, right?
I have them, what category did you enter it in?
Looks like the 10th is a runner for next meet.
Cat amongst the pigeons - how about the 11th for Siebel Off-tasting.
I'll resurrect the other thread.
same, 19a old ale
I could scan them and email them but then you'd have to check your email...
I'm in no rush for them.
I'll just print out 15 copies of the medal pic and roll around in them
Ok so it looks like the 17th April is the clear winner of the poll. What is name of manager at Fran Well who ye usually arrange with?
Noel is the usual contact I believe.
Just ring the Well after lunch any day, ask for Tom and Noel, but whoever answers can stick it in the book. Ask for the fireplace as that's nicest spot for a tasting.
I will drop in today and ask for 17th. Will post info later tonight or tomorrow when I get a chance
Pick a time and stick with it too.
It's a bit shìt for the Well when they're stuck for seats and us Muppets rock in whenever.
I will be there early but also leaving early to catch the train.
Who's in?
1. Johnrm
I just got around to making the call now and the 17th is full up so the booking is made with Tom for 24th April from 7pm for Rebel Brewers for 20 person is that too few or too much? Area by stove is reserved.
Who's able to make it on 24th?
1. BzFeale80
10 should be grand.
Standing room for late arrivals
1. BzFeale80
2. Johnrm
If the 24th doesn't suit as many people we could possibly try the Hub for the 17th?
I was going to suggest a change of venue.
I was thinking the Bierhaus, but they're not the biggest of venues.
Definitely go for the Hub.
The 17th it is then.

3. dcalnan ?
Just off the phone form Justina in the Hub.
We're booked for 10 people for 7.30-8.00
They said they would throw in some baskets of food too.
I told her I would come back it this was not going ahead.
Ok Johnrm should I call the Franciscan Well and cancel the 24th so then or what?
Do please. Lads were working around the 17th. We'll be there next time around.
What time are you floating about?
Will try to drop up for a bit. Won't be a late one. Have a pale ale.
Theres a slight chance i might finally get to one of these meets this time. But where is the hub? never heard of it as i dont get to pubs much
Good stuff Drum. It's across from the cop shop on Anglsea street.
Any other takers?
Bump
Yeah i can make it.
I might make it... fingers crossed. No booze though :*(
Here's the Hub for people that aren't that familiar with it, https://goo.gl/maps/3D2eA (https://goo.gl/maps/3D2eA)
There will be something for you to take away.
How far are you guys away from each other?
Can you club in with Doc H?
I see blackbrew (aka Sam Black) put his name down.
Thats almost a full taxi from Kinsale....
I'll be getting the bus in and possibly back- you could consider that as well Raindog (226, leaves from Kinsale on the hour). Last bus home is at 10 though, which is a pain, so taxi could be an option.
Do they fill growlers in the Hub? I have Dr.H's siphon in the boot of the car, I'll try stick my head in for a bit.
Bring it in and see what they say.
I suppose. It's just that my friends use the word growler to refer to female fun bits, so I never fell comfortable asking a barman to fill my growler :-[
I hope to be there from 7.30
And a great night had!
Mr. Hoppys blonde was my favourite.
Your stout was good as well. I could drink that in quantities. The standard was fairly good and the Hub is a nice spot.
Totally forgot about this on friday :-[ Got distracted by a BBQ at my neighbours.
No worries, try make it to the May meet if there's one.
