Aright?
So while we're still trying to get a date decided for the next brewday, there's been a demand for a mid-week-er in the meantime.
I've put the next few Weds and Thurs out there so please vote. I'll keep the poll open until the middle of next week.
Cheers,
-Barry
Good stuff! Hoping to make it down!

What time do the meetups start at? I usually get out of work at 8 on most days maybe later if we are busy or under staffed, and it will be a 10 min walk to spoons.

Hi Koala. They normally start from 8 onwards so you'll be there in plenty of time.
Cheers,
-Barry

Yeah... have that to look forward to it next month. Hope they do plenty of songs from Frozen; hearing them several times every single day just isn't enough ???

Guys.................Let it Go!
;D
I'll keep the voting open till the end of the week, given that a fair few of you may not want to think about drink for a day or two if enjoying a few today.
Not me; I'm in work :( The Holylands will have to wait till 5:30 or so :P

Last day of voting, folks....
-Barry
Come on guys, it's neck and neck going in to the home straight!
You know the mantra - vote early, vote often!
I'm in Spoons right now. Fecking mental. One arrest So far.
Don't worry Bazza, we'll bail you out!
Okay so Thursday 9th shades it by a whisker. Easter week so schools and maybe some dads off too.
I'll get on the blower to Spoons.

Haha. Nah. All good, yer honour. A simple case of mistaken identity; I mistook his face for my fist pocket.
Was in that Woodcutters for a couple too. Good wee spot, decent beers and good prices.
Took my mate to Filthys for 1 just to illustrate how places can be shit yet full of their own self importance at the same time. Horrible place. Way too many beards as well.
-Barry
Was in the woodworkers last night too for a swift pint. Trouble brewing Remix India Pale Lager was lovely stuff.
Finally made to the Woodcutters myself, through the week. Quiet, well it was the day after St Patrick's, but enjoyed some White Gypsy Stout and a Wheat Beer.
Haven't got the details to hand, but think there is a meet the brewer event at The Errigle next week with Farmageddon.
Glad you are still a free man Bazza. At least you didn't have to resort to stabbing yourself in front of the psni and risk a tazer! Here that's a good name for my chili stout - Tazer - it tingles!
Woodworkers is it? Haha. Been getting that wrong for some time now.
Aye; I was on the Remix too. One of the better TB creations I've had.
-Barry
Ended the night in the Errigle. Had a Thornbridge stout. Nice but was well into kebab territory by that stage. What night is the brewer thing in the Errigle, Andy?
-Barry
My Friday night amounted to a lonely pint in Ballymena Spoons as I waited on the young fella leaving work. £1.39 a pint. Rock n Roll
I also have been in woodworkers this week and had a pint (or 3) of Remix. I kind of bought it without thinking much about it, and when i got to my table id forgotten what id even ordered, looked at it and thought oh some kind of light lager.....as i brought it to my mouth the hops punched me right in the face. Was not expecting such aroma from such a light looking beer. Very refreshing very enjoyable and at £4.10 (?) very affordable. And Irish too, which I like.
One thing about the woodworkers I noticed was the apparent belief that as long as the foam reaches the top of the glass it can be counted full. I did point this folly out to the young lady to which she obligingly topped my pint up with yet more foam. Beer-flavoured candyfloss it was.
18 quid for 2 mojitos in the place that used to be Bar Bacca. Christ alive!
That's my old man 'things are more expensive than they used to be' rant over for the day :)
-Barry
The Errigle' s next meet the brewer event is on Thursday 26th March with Farmageddon. Beers and some rare breed bacon up for grabs.
Check for the details on Twitter

Ah bollocks. I'm out with work that night :-\
Cheers Andy.
-Barry
+1 for the woodworkers. Don't screw you over if you're just after a half. Get taplister for your phone and it'll tell you what they have on. Hawndy.
Just off the phone with Darren from 'Spoons.
Thursday 9th April 8PM confirmed.
Going on feedback from the last meeting, they're going to reserve a couple of tables for us in the upstairs bar.
Cheers,
-Barry
Great work Barry!
Soooooo...................anyone got any new brews for us to sample?
Paddys day cleared me out. Bad timing in that respect. If I can't bring a home brew I can bring the craic... And maybe a recipe book if anyone wants to flick through it or even swap.
Yeah; don't get hung up on not having brews to sample; that's only part of it.
Just bring some sexy girls and all will be forgiven :-*
Also, don't be afraid to bring brews you're not necessarily happy with and are looking for pointers on where you went wrong; other peoples' insights can be invaluable.
Cheers,
-Barry

I HAVE ONE OF THEM. There's just something not right can't put my finger on it.

Good stuff. As a new member I had a hard time remembering names... Perhaps a wee role call at the start and also their forum names? Maybe even an account of brews discussed? Too formal?
Hopefully be able to make this one(my first). Only really been working with 1 gallon all grain test batches but might be able to bring a couple of bottles if it's ready :)

Not at all. It's your meeting to get out of what you want.
We used to have this thing called an agend-ah forget it!
-Barry
An idea would ye still have a little name badges that you would have had pinned to your jumper when you first went to school,ye could wear them. :P
I'll bring stickers and a marker
Hi All,
Just a reminder about tomorrow's meet in Spoons from 8pm.
Cheers,
-Barry
I'm hoping to make this one and bring along a reddish ale which I think has a funny off flavour that has appeared in most of my brews
Sound.
Have we many other takers, so I can phone Spoons before lunchtime with a rough idea of headcount so they can reserve us a table or two?
Cheers,
-Barry
I should be there, but will probably be nearer 9pm. Leave me some beer!
Andy
Hoping to make it down!
Won't make tonight, enjoy lads.
Well lads who do I look out for tonight? First time coming along so is there a secret handshake or something?
You will know me by my aura O0
I'm hoping to be there for 8, so just head for the upstairs bar where they've promised to reserve a couple of tables. I've been told I look a cross between Michael Schumacher and Steve Davis :-X
Failing that, just look out for a handful of nervous looking lads with rattling backbacks.
Cheers,
-Barry
Gutted. Can't make it tonight. Somethings just come up. Really looking forward to it too since the train allows me to get pie eyed. Sorry lads. Enjoy!
Aw no lads I can't make it either. Not feeling the best. Next time!
At the upstairs bar now. long table between the thin white pillars.
-Barry
Good wee night! Great standard of beers on show and good to catch up.
Very impressed with 'spoons - great to see a "reserved for the brewing club" sign on the table!
:)
Yes, great to catch up with you folks, and again - impressed with 'spoons. Thanks for organising Barry.
Thanks for collecting my medal, Chris. Still wearing it with pride!
"great to see a "reserved for the brewing club" sign on the table" - yes, it came in very handy when my Suspect Device went a gushing! Safely defused the other bottle when I got home. Think there is a couple in the garage I better clear as well - then get brewing some new stock!
Will, great to meet you and thanks for bringing your beers. Hope you got something positive out of the feedback.
Beer of the night - my vote is for Chris's Saison.
....and don't forget to enjoy some extreme homebrewing with BEERGOTTEN Mikkeller w/ Mastodon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO5CuavLZNA
Yep. To second Chris and Andy, was a good wee night. I think 'intimate' would best describe the turnout, but suffered none the more for it.
Will, good you could make it along. For a fledgling all-grainier you're heading in the right direction.
+1 for Chris's saison. Amazing stuff. Was not joking when I said it tasted better than one I'd bought recently in the Vineyard.
Again, credit to Spoons for their hospitality. When I first went in and said about the club meet, I actually saw some look in a 'book' and say 'ah, yes', as opposed to the old days of the blank stares from hipster bar staff :)
Cheers,
-Barry
Cheers lads for the feedback. ill hopefully have a pale ale to bring along to the next meet.
Chris Saison was great stuff and I wasn't up all night from the coffee porter lol
Ah thanks for the feedback lads! Really appreciated!
Will hoke out the recipe later and post it up.
Must have been my brisk 30 min walk that stirred up the beers last night! Checked the remaining bottles tonight and all's well. Having to drink them now they are opened. It's a labour of love..........
Of course, I'm still wearing my medal!
haha. class.
It's the new Jim'll Fix it badge :)
-Barry
;D
