Title: Best Stout Kit?
Post by: mervynskidmore on March 15, 2015, 12:51:17 AM
Well lads and lassies, what are the best stout kits out there? I've brewed the Coopers Stout, Coopers Irish Stout, Black Moor Stout and Brewmaker Irish Velvet Stout. Of those I've kept going back to the Coopers Irish Stout. Should I be looking elsewhere?

Maybe St Peters.  Also Woodfordes nog is great given a few months in bottle . Classed as a dark ale / porter. Have a coopers stout laced with coffee on keg that tastes lovely so far

Try the Craft Range stout... savage after a few months in the bottle

More expensive than the Coopers alright though

It does take a few months to calm down alright, but it's a nice beer then

@LE, did your Craft stout behave after?
As I recall you were going to call it black champagne...

Yeah, it was quite overcarbonated alright, so just put in less priming sugar.
I found it too bitter for a while but it was nice once it calmed down after a few months
