I thought I would put up my winning recipe for the American Ale category.
Recipe is for an American Amber, method of brewing is BIAB.
21litres into fermenter
4.2kg Pale Malt
0.8kg Munich Malt
0.1kg Crystal 230EBC
0.06kg Roast Barley
0.04kg Chocolate Malt
5g Columbus FWH
Boil for 60mins
30g Citra + 30g Mosaic + 30g Simcoe - Steep after boil for 25 mins
15g Citra + 15g Mosaic + 15g Simcoe - Steep after boil for last 5 mins of 25 min steep
40g Citra + 40g Mosaic + 25g Simcoe - Dry Hop for 6 days
Yeast US-05 Fermented at 19c for 16days then cooled crashed and Kegged
OG 1.051
FG 1.013
Carbonated to 2.3 Vols

I have never had Amberella, I would not mind trying it tho.
The only commercial American Amber I have had was a Wicklow Wolf, cant even say if they were close as I only had one bottle of it. Altho I do think mine was hoppier.
Its something I must try and do is sample more commercial stuff.
