Gah. Just saw this now. I need to check all of the forums more frequently. Long term, I'd love to get into systems biology.
Do you mean Synthetic Biology?
Well, no. Yes. Maybe. Systems Biology is when you take what others about the tens if thousands of different proteins, enzymes etc. and concentrate on how they interact as a while. Kinda like my day job with computers, only a little smaller :-)
If people like this sort of stuff, I strongly recommend the "Meet The Scientist" podcast from MicrobeWorld.org - there are even some good episodes on yeast and brewing.
