Opening it's doors tomorrow, anyone going?
for anyone who has not seen it, this should be the line up

Not enough pints available.
true they need more pints but there is only a hand full of beers i have seen on tap here before.
I'll have to visit next time I'm in Dublin, it's a bit annoying having to go to Galway or Dublin to enjoy their beers on tap.
I dread seeing the price list ???

???
Such choice... Such price...
Such dusty out of date bottles in the fridge...
Yea I'd be a bit worried about treating myself to something like a nogne ipa and be super disappointed it's mad old.
Is this the pub formally known as "The Pale".

Some of these beers are more than 200 POUNDS STERLING per 30L! They're specials & more often than not pretty high abv so Id expect them to be pricey/smaller servings. I know loads will drone on about the price but the stuff thats gona be coming in is worth it. Hope it delivers on the selection. Cant wait!

Doesn't mean they are worth 200 pound sterling

Oh :-[
Knowing where its located is good to know too though so thanks for that D. :)
Its expensive but its a specialist bar. If all the GBB bars had all their beer at that price it'd be one thing but they have 3 or 4 other pubs in town where you can get more widely available/local craft beer at a more standard price.
Tbh I spend a lot of my wages in Salthouse. The specials from the likes of Buxton, Siren etc are defo worth it. The kegs dont last a night.
They're gona have 21A, Ballast Point, Edge Brewing to name a few all in the first night or two on tap. You'd normally have to go to Barcelona, Sweden, London, Italy etc for that. Im not being anyway biased here as I work for the company, Im genuinely excited for this bar. Hopefully it'll live up to my expectations. Enjoy anyway whoever is going tonight. Wish I could be there.
Nothing here is exciting me... dunno why. Also the glasses they use aren't 330ml

what size are they?
Plenty on there Id love to be drinking tonight. The Naparbier stuff is all class, we get loads of bottle samples at the brewery to taste & its been one of the stand outs. Jaipur X, Siren peachy, Desperate mile on draught (only had it from bottle), same for 200 fathoms... For a tap list that had 10 days to get put together its pretty good.
I just measured the bog standard stem glass here, standard pour with 1 finger head is 305ml with a few bubbles on top. Surprised at that. Id query it at the bar or ask for a different glass thats got a bit of head space above the 33cl mark. (i heard talk of custom glass wear for beer market, teku, spiegelau etc but obviously nothing has landed yet as there are no pics on twitter)

sure you'd get more than the difference in a free taster, I wouldn't lose sleep over it myself.
Still though, if you're paying for 33cl you should get it. Free tasters or not.

I have no issue with the glass size when the pour them like this :)

Goddammit I wish I was in a pub or beer garden right now! :'(
By pure fluke I happened to strolling past yesterday evening and popped in for a look. Didn't even know it was opening let alone first night!
Had a nice 200 fathoms GBB and Siren peachy. Decor is quite sparse and 'new' feeling but I guess character can develop over time. Glasses did indeed feel small. I think places like this with a large rotating stock on tap can help the drinker a bit more on their chalk board. Unless you are some mega beer geek you do not know what style of beer it is from name and %abv alone. A simple way is to chalk the colour of the beer beside the name eg gold, amber, brown , black etc. Just gives folk a ballpark idea without having to ask the bar staff each time to identify the double IPA for example.
This style of place isn't really my cup of tea anyway. Too nerdy and pretentious. But good luck to them. The beer tasted good and that's the main thing!
Ended up there last night after a Brazilian meat fest in Ranelagh. It was alright, pretty dam hot inside but that could have being the meat. Got a Jaipor X10 and Hoppy pills

No it was way too warm upstairs they need to sort the aircon!
Dem pints of desperate mile... Hoo lawdy!!! fantastic.
I thought the staff brought in would have been more experienced though, one of them didn't know what style to call the thornbridge peanut amber (also no allergen warning!), and some other lad got served a full pint of yeasty dregs from the siren IPA keg, which he happily supped away! Blleeuugghh
Had a few in there last night. Nice spot, staff were pretty knowledgeable. Could definitely do with a bit more info about what beers are on, even the style would be helpful.
I did have a bottle of Founders KBS there though which while a pretty mental price was well worth it. Absolutely amazing beer.

Any reason why the bottle and cans markups are so high in GBB pubs?
This is €26 in the beer market

I have no idea. I drank from the taps until I spotted the KBS. I didn't mind paying over the odds for it because I'd never seen it anywhere before and I believe even in the US its difficult to get hold of.

Good few of them floating about in most off licenses in Dublin anyway. Ring Martins if you want to stock. I've saved a few that i'll drink in the next 5-10 years
Oh well, I enjoyed it and it wasn't that much dearer than the off licence price.
Was is served fridge cold?
Off the shelf I think. Can't really remember tbh.
Noticed the beer market have been tweeting photos of the chalkboard for every beer they're putting on lately. None of the photos include the price of each beer :-\
