Was cleaning my taps and beer lines, and I noticed that there was a bit of residue left in the line after rinsing with PBW, was just going to replace it when I remembered I had a brush that might be able to do the job, It's a cleaning kit I got for my platypus for hillwalking and it fits perfectly inside the tubing and tap parts. It did the job perfectly with some scrubbing action and the residue was gone. I'd definitely recommend it, also fits in the dip tubes of a keg.

Yeah it fits through the outlet tube on the keg, I use 3/8 od tubing, I don't have any 3/16 od tubing to try out, it might be a bit of a squeeze.

Us city slikers think of bikes like as in "lowest form of life that crawls on its belly" If it hasn't got a diesel or petrol engine then its low life!

I just fill my keg with boiling water and W5 then put it through the lines, let it sit for a Hour then flush with boiling water and everything is spic and span that W5 is legendary stuff i even use it to clean burnt pot!. For cleaning the dip tubes on my kegs, after soaking the tubes with W5 i get a 2" strip of cloth, tie some gut around the middle of the cloth and tie the other end of the gut to a small nail that will fit down the tube to make a pull through. Then drop the nail down the tube, and once its through pull the cloth (cloth should be a fairly tight sqeeeze) through the tube to remove and crud, two passes is general enough to remove even the hardest crud. Every one has their only way but everyone Feck hates it as a job

Do every keg once you get them, then, periodically after that. It depends how much gunk you think is in there. You can't see, you see!
Ah ok ... I read this that you had to do maintenance on the lines. Had to wedge mine on with Juniper clips so they wont be coming off if I can avoid it..
I bought a couple of these from hop and grape a while back, and find them brilliant. They come in two different sizes, but think I use the wider one mostly. Great for cleaning corney dip tubes and beer lines. I take apart and clean all parts of my corneys everytime a new brew goes in, so an essential bit of kit for me. Bit surprised that none of the Irish homebrew stores stock them.

I have one too. Very handy. If you're stuck try a musical instrument shop. They do that sorta thing for ww and brass instruments.
