Right lads, pencil the 27th of June into your diaries for a brewery tour.
€5 a head. Danger_zone was on to the Royal brewers about joining us on the day, so there should hopefully be a good squad of us.
I've messaged Cody's back about what will be involved on the day.
More details to follow!
We can put this on the backburner, but I was on to Boyne Brewhouse as well and they'll be up and running for a tour around September. Busy, busy!
Ah great stuff. Hopefully they're actually brewing on the day too. Should we get an auld list of numbers going

Right lads, pencil the 4th of July into your diaries for a brewery tour.
€5 a head. Danger_zone was on to the Royal brewers about joining us on the day, so there should hopefully be a good squad of us.
I've messaged Cody's back about what will be involved on the day.

Right, we've hit our first, and hopefully only speed bump. Cody's got back to me and they had us double booked for the 27th, so I've rescheduled for the 4th of July.
Does this still suit everyone?
Here's the details I got:
Hi Dan,
Thanks for taking the call earlier and sorry about all the to and fro on this. We can do a beer geek tour on Sat 4 July 3pm to 5pm. We can extend this invite to Beoir members and any other homebrewers who may be interested in coming along - this is technical and not for the general public.
Event will cover
Jack Codys story
the brewing process
Discussion on different types of beers
Starting a brewery or any other small business
Tastings and sampling
Subject to numbers we may have the hungry ass tour food truck also on the day.
E5.00 per head
If this is good with you we can put up on facebook and eventbrite.
Thanks for the interest and look forward to meeting you soon.
Maybe we should get a new list going?

Ah pish Renier. Sorry about that. I'm lining up a tour of Boyne Brewhouse for Septemberish, so hopefully you'll be able to make that one!
Can't make it myself I have a wedding that day.

The 4th is now the only available date. It's a pisser for Cronan and Renier, but hopefully we can still get a crowd going.
Danger_zone, will we get back on to the Navan crowd and see if they have any interest?

Do we have to pay the tickets seperate through the link or whats the story?
Looks like it. To be honest it's been tough getting info out of them. As far as I can tell he's trying to open this up as a general event for folk who are into brewing, including ourselves. Might be a good opportunity to drum up a few new recruits for the meetings?
I'm going to go ahead and pick up a ticket now.
Just bought my ticket 8)
Just picked up my ticket too :) looking forward to this!
Just picked up a ticket too, so I guess i'll meet some of you lads there ;)

So what is the story now with the tickets?
Do we put our name down and then buy the tickets or what?

Yeah, I think just get your ticket and we'll all rock up on the day.
Will yis have a chat tonight about transport on the day? Maybe if the Dundalk heads make their way to Drogheda by hovercraft or pony and trap or whatever and we could sort a funbus from there?
I know i mentioned it last night but i thought i'd put it in writing. If anybody wants to stay over i'll put them up for the night and we can make an evening of it. Myself and Dan could show you all the sights of Drawda!

How about Mathews bus?

That'd be the job. We could meet somewhere for a pre-brewery pint and hop in a minibus out to Cody's. I could sort a bus if we get a definite headcount for it.

Sounds like a plan. Matthews bus to Drawda, meet for a scoop, then minibus to the brewery. I guess there'll be myself,Brian and the 2 Aidans coming from Dundalk

One of them might be round for it. The brother who did a turbo cider is away that weekend. The other wants to go travelling so he may be gone soon enough
Renier, you on board for the funbus?
No going to skip this one.

Are you skipping the bus or the whole tour?
I've the brother in law booked in as well. He has a couple of brews under the belt now.
Whole one
Matthews suits me lads :)!
Well lads. What time is the northern part of louth arriving in the south? My house is free if anybody wants to stay over! I propose the cross as a meeting point as its beside the Matthews bus stop at dominics (beside the old garda barricks)! It might be best to organise a time and we'll have the pints ready!
By the way I'm looking forward to this if it doesn't come across in the above post
I reckon we could get the 12 bus up. That would drop us outside Dominics by half. Plenty of time for a couple of pints then get a mini bus out yonder
I won't be able to stay over but thanks for the offer
That sounds good. Myself and helmet will have to start organising the welcome party :P
Grand job lads. See yis there. Do we have enough bodies to warrant a bus or will we just ring for a taxi on the day?
Wow, it's lucky I checked, I thought it was still on the 11th!
Looking forward to it, Sunday plans so I'll have to make the trek back to Dundalk, appreciate it Clinto!
Right lads. I was on to my brother and he mentioned that the cross mightn't be open at 12. Unfortunately, he's right, it opens at 4. Anywhere else you's would like to go? There's not too many in drogheda - carnes probably the highlight of we have to offer
Ps i got the brother to be my plus one :P
Sounds good, I can meet yis at the bus stop and we can walk up to Cairnes from there.
What Matthews bus were you lads thinking of getting tomorrow?
I was thinking of 12 bus but if you think thats too early to head down I don't mind waiting for a later one
Who's coming from dundalk tomorrow? I know acott and danger zone are for sure. Cronan can't make it. Is barney and hericulain (spelling)?
There'll be four of us with helmet and myself having plus ones from drogheda
I've a helicopter booked to airlift us out to Cody's at 1.45 from Cairnes. So, any time before that is spot on.

As I am in Drogheda later today might meet up with you later but will be driving
Ah shite Brian, sorry about that. There was a lot of jumping around with dates.
Tour is from 3-5. What time will you be about?

It took a lot of dedication to do what we did yesterday..........heroes!
Thanks again lads for yesterday. Really enjoyed the laugh and craic. Hopefully this is the first of many ;D Belgium next! Hopefully Geoff doesn't think less of us, especially with me shite talking the ears off him (always happens when i've drink on me) :-[
I had a cracking day, can't wait until the next one! I've been looking on aliexpress for a 10 hectolitre microbrewery, wonder if I can fit it under the stairs?
Well done Helmet on organising this!
Look's like yis had a good day 8). Great to see that brewing is thriving out in the stick's :D :-*
It was good to meet some of you lads at Jack Codys... I had to split early - did you stay on much longer than the end of the tour?
Hello Ed. I didn't get to meet you, must have been gallivanting/talking elsewhere. We stayed till about 6'ish - i'm sure he was gonna throw us out but we went to the cross where an evening of drinks was had. I got out early (8) and i'm not too sure what time the other lads left, but by the sounds of it there were a few more drinks!
Do you want to come to our meeting on Friday? I'm driving! ;D
Just need to check on commitments etc... but will come along if I can (and there's space!)
No problem. Theres always space! 8)
I think we stayed in the pub til 10 o'clock or so
