Bumping this lads.
I believe there are spare seats still.
And there might be beer!
I have clearance so I'll be heading to this. Should be very interesting.
I am also going along. I hope to get some useful information, as I am currently researching setting up a microbrewery. I expect to be proceeding fairly soon. Hope to meet some of you guys there. Should be a good event.
That was very interesting. Good talks from macro to micro level. And of course free cans of KPA, you can't go wrong :)
Very good talk. Straight talking with minimal heckling!
How much would it cost to set up a microbrewery?
There was a post on here one time about setting up on your own but it seems to be gone?
thanks
Paul

Cough.. unless you are contract brewing, capacity dependant but to do it properly between 50 and 75 min to start but closer to 100. Group Buy? ;)
Lets start throwing some numbers at the following if you like...
Brewing Plant
Tanks
Kegs and or contract bottling, or canning!
Rent and dead costs getting location suitable, like power floors etc
Salary
Staff Costs
Insurance
Transport
Marketing Branding
Licence and other costs associated with Company Registration
Up front ingredient costs
Silly costs like taps lollipops gas .....
Assumption on above is you start to break even 8-12 months in which is very ambitious
Listening to new Brewers at Brewcon and biggest cost was to personal life
I was wrong, 8k.
It was a leading question your honor.
FFS, 'How much for a microbrewery?'
How long is a piece of string?!
I was thinking!
If I sat down and worked how much I think I've spent it would be close to that already meself! :o
<whisper> Don't say it in front of herself. </whisper>
Always remember one of the successful marriage rules, find out what she spends big on and keep it to yourself so that when awkward spending questions about your hobby come up you have an addition to the piece of conversation to stymie queries ;)
This guy in the States worked it out at about $800k

Piece of string is getting shorter...
It can depend on how resourceful you are. Oh, turnkey you mean.
Leading question, your honor.
