Lads,
I think I might have left a liter of star san (diluted - i.e. 1.5 ml neat into 19 litres of liquid) in the bottom of one of my kegs. I just siphoned a pale ale into the keg - I cant remember pouring the star san out.
I've had a taste and amnt sure am I tasting Star San or ibus! There wasnt loads of foam on the beer..
Anyone done this before or have any idea if this should be ok? I've reading contradictory stuff on the web about this.
Only time will tell or maybe a Ph meter may shed some light!
As always in the HB scene: If in doubt do nowt! Wait a while and taste it. Starsan is classed as no rinse but it is a mix of two chemicals: Phosphoric acid (lowers the Ph and will taste acidic) and a surfactant (posh word for cleaning stuff). What this tastes like - I don't know! But it may either kill your head or give you a great big stiffy (IYKWIM)!
HTH: Will
And it's further diluted now, you could sell it as a cleansing beer to your friends.
Actually the hydrometer reading is the same. it should have dropped by a point if I had done this.
Will pretend it didnt happen..
