This is the second beer to next that i plan on doing, grains are all weighed out, just waiting to order hops and yeast. As with the Roggenbier i need a good substitute dry yeast for the liquid yeast suggested below,if one cannot be found i will likely go with S04 or US05,anything from Mangrove Jacks would do also. ;D

I made a rye beer with notty that was great. You want a really clean fermentation to get the rye to shine through, and maybe a light touch with the hops to avoid overpowering it. I do recall that I used some crystal or other in it too for a bit of body, rye can have a dryness on the palate

Both this one and the Roggenbier are from Greg Hughes book, the roggenbier i played around a bit with the malts as i only had certain ones in stock, this rye beer recipe is a straight up copy though from the book. ;D
Final draft of this brew, hope to be brewing this tomorrow and pitching a WLP029 i got going in a demijohn. ;D

From memory this is my first time using Amarillo hops and to say they have blown me away would be understating it. I have been trying to remember what Irish beer this home brew reminded me of and i finally clicked today,to me IMHO very close to the beer linked below and rather appropriate too as i have relations in that area. ;D
