Grainfather alembic attachment as condenser during boil

As a bit of a Chemist, I think that the purpose of the rolling boil is to remove certain unwanted components from the mashing/boiling process.

This is called steam distillation and is a very different process to distiling 2 or 3 simple hydro carbon compounds of differing boiling points.

If you add the condensate back in or use a vertical condenser then you just add the unwantables back into the pot.
