I'm interested in other members here who play guitar, or indeed any instrument which can be rocked ;)

I started playing in school when I was around 15 and played for a few years, then gave up for a long time and then took it up about 6-7 years ago again in earnest.

I got myself a Crafter Jumbo acoustic with the intention sometime of maybe learning some bluegrass, that has not yet happened, but I really like my Jumbo anyway.

A while later my brother told me he needed some cash so his Fender Telecaster American Vintage '52 reissue was up for sale for €1000 so I bought it, man it's a beauty.

I also got myself a lovely little 5W Epiphone valve amp, great buy second hand at €100, it also has the J1 mod done to it, but I'm thinking of reversing it as I like the muddy overdrive sound that it was modified to clean up.

Anyone else got any nice machines to show off? I did a search for other guitar threads and noticed only one where Shane was talking about his new flying V, which never was :) apart from that I saw no threads, so show us your guitars.

To be honest I'm as interested in outing players as I am the guitars :) but a bit of eye candy is always nice.

QuoteNice. Major respect for the Tele even though I'm not a fan of the sound from them single coil Fender pick-ups.

I have no pics, but I have a 70s Harmony Les Paul copy that's in bits (it was a really nice guitar too), an Epiphone Les Paul alike to replace it, complete with EMG 81/85 pick-ups from the Harmony waiting to go in. There's an acoustic in the house somewhere too, I dunno where it is and I can't remember the make, but it's a €200 guitar so nothing special. I also have a Hohner headless bass, which is a really nice Steinberger licensed model, and is great quality.

I loved that bass when I was a bass player years ago, I'd love to have had one, I presume you mean the rectangular black jobbie?

Eoin

QuoteI think this is the exact model

Yep that's her, beautiful machine alright.

The Tele is savage, you might not like the pickups, but it's an icon and the beauty of them is that once you own one, you start to hear the sound all over classic music. It's a legendary machine.

It appears you can get a Floyd Rose tailpiece, but EMG pickups don't appear to be standard on that model, but they're not standard Les Paul Pickups either.

QuoteDoesn't sound too shabby

If that's your bag, not mine at all. I'm a big fan of the Les Paul and this isn't really a Les Paul :)

I had the privilege of playing a friends '54 Les Paul years ago and that spoiled me with regards to them.

Eoin

QuoteVery much my bag! Big fan of this guy, who uses EMG 81/85 pickups. In fact I'd say they sell two thirds of what they sell because of him, and Gibson can thank him too!

Metal is not my thing at all, Rory Gallagher and the Stones are more my thing, listen to a lot of them.

My all time favourite band, not a guitar band, is Talking Heads, amazing band.
