Mixed gas for creaaaammmmy stouts!

After my recent purchase, possibly a bit too eagerly, of a mixed gas reg from Cara I now need some mixed gas.

Does anybody have a good contact or know where I can get my hands on a tank of this precious gas? It seems to be rarer than gold medals in the homebrew world.

ya big dirty fecker .......here was i thinking that wanted ment you had some of this magic bastard gass for sale ............ok so posting at 5.30 means lidl have a speical on some beer ......but still .....ya big fecker

Ha apologies hopapotamus...sorry that I got your hops up! Seriously though, maybe we should get together and plan a raid on a mixed gas distributor. Seems like the only way anybody can get some of the magic gas!

I used to get mine from Event Bars before I sold my nitro setup.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Nitro setup mimics what a beer engine does. Had the chance to buy a beer engine so went for it. I never used the nitro tap that much & it tied up a whole line in my kegerator.

Here is a pic before replaced the nitro tap with a standard tap.

Looks pretty sweet. Is the beer carbed with CO2 before it goes through the engine?

I contacted BOC about getting a tank of mixed gas, they politely declined me.

The only way is to get friendly with your local barman. You could say offer 50 quid wink wink for a lend of a full bottle nudge nudge. Then bring back the empty bottle and swap for a full one nudge nudge with another 50 falling on the bar

Event Bars.ie in Galway sell mixed gas to homebrewers. Ring the Dublin branch & ask if they'll sell you some.

Yeah beer is carbed. I degas the corny before I pull pints. Gas it back up before going to bed again to keep it fresh.

got to love this place ! there is contact details for event bar crowd in cork in the rebels area , im sorted for now but event bars could be a solution for us.
