I joined up a week ago when i came across the site on a late night web surf. Have just recently got back into brewing after a 30 year hiatus. Started brewing in my college days due to economic necessity as couldn't afford to get inebriated enough on inflated pub prices of almost a pound a pint as far as i recall lol
Built myself a nice man cave last year and then my other half surprised me with a starter kit from HBW for my birthday as she recalled me often mentioning i used to brew. So my passion for brewing was ignited again and i have been gradually building up my equipment etc over the last 6 months to get back up to speed. Its a different world now compared to 30 years ago , so much easier now to get great ingredients and the equipment has improved slightly. I started off just with kits , Coopers, Munton etc but soon wanted more so I would hack the kits with my own extra ingredients etc until eventually i got into extract brewing on a small scale, once i discovered hops i was hooked, i like a hoppy beer.
This time around I am just back with the kits and hacking them to my taste but i hope to get back to extract brewing soon. I also brew wine and some other things that I don't see mention of here from my initial visits
Am so pleased to have found this very useful site and genuinely surprised that home brewing is so big now and I look forward to contributing more in the future once i have got back up to speed. Cheers!

Your very welcome. Your story rings a bell with myself as I had brewed 30 odd years ago as well and one night a few years back hit on homebrew forums.  :)
