Anyone ever tried one of these?

Was reading an article about making bottled fizzy cocktails and realised I'd everything I needed apart from the actual carbonation cap.

Making Bottled French 75

Quick jaunt on Aliexpress and picked up one for $10. Have been using it to force carb in a brown plastic bottle and so far am pretty impressed! Just been filling the bottle, chilling it in the fridge, give it a blast at 30psi, shake for 5 mins, give it another top up blast and then refrigerate again for at least an hour before swapping the cap.

Will do anyway until I get a BeerGun!

I have 2 of them 10-12 dollars on Ali
Great for cleaning lines as well make sure you get one with the metal pipe in base as per your pic some of the older ones don't and are only good for carbonation

I found the one I got impossible to use with keg disconnects, so some of them seem to be better than others.

Are they cheap disconnects :(
The two I have work both gas and liquid and no problems with either.
I also use them to pop in the gas to purge fermenters.
In a fit of rage I threw out 3 each of those white gas and rough looking black liquid disconnects I got cheap from China, false economy and shredder of O rings bastarding things.

Good idea for cleaning lines. You just fill up a 2 litre coke bottle with starsan basically and pressurise it?

Are aliexprees (and similar) keg disconnects shite?

dcalnan

Yeah they're proper disconnects, I also threw out the cheap ones. I might order one from a different shop.

That's the one I got. Great stuff! Never thought about it for cleaning lines!!

I have a small pump in a plastic jug of warm pbw solution with a silicone pipe into the base of the cap, then onto the liquid disconnect and I hold the tap open with an elastic band and straight back into the jug underneath the tap all for 20 mins, replacing the pbw with a a good rinse with water and I'm good to serve
