I am thinking of brewing an american stout, a version of the reprobate stout from brewing classic styles. The grain bill will be something like this,

Hookhead irish pale malt  85%
Black roast barely              3%
Chocolate spelt malt          3%
Chocolate malt                   4%
Crystal 40                          4%
Mash @                           68°c

This is my first time using chocolate spelt malt, will it help improve the head as a wheat malt would or is the quantity too small to make a noticeable difference. Will the chocolate spelt malt add any significant taste and if it does do you think it will be better with/without.

Pheeel

Why not use chocolate wheat instead? I doubt it'll add any significant taste

I have the chocolate spelt laying about and just want to use it up. I will just have to chance it.
