Had a phonecall from Gerry earlier, he's getting signs made up for Jan 18th!

He asked me to phone the sign maker and tell him what we want on them. Any suggestions!?

If its to be read from the road then big letters and simple clear information. HOMEBREW DAY HERE 18 JANUARY ALL WELCOME.

I would change it to Amateur Brewing Demonstration.

Homebrew still brings up images of dodgy brewing in bathtubs and fermented in the hotpress in the 70s and 80s.
Only modern homebrewers know better  ;)

Why Amateur?

CRAFT BREWING DEMONSTRATION

And add a tag-line like "free beer" to ensure we get the right crowd in.  ;D

Why Amateur?

CRAFT BREWING DEMONSTRATION

Because anyone who is not professional is amateur. Olympians included.

Absolutely true but are we  not also craft brewers?

There is no need to mention Amateur at all - that just implies we are, well, amateurs at this and I strongly beg to differ that when NHV members can brew a better beer A(ND fit for market) than the pro's then amateur is redundant

Ah Will, I think we just have a different definition of the word but I see your point. To most people, amateur means not as good.

Never a fan of "craft" as it's very wish washy. I prefer to use the word "nice" in its place. ;)
Who wants to go to the south of France for a brewing demo?
