hi all
this is my 1st post
i plan to bottle 23l of red ale at the weekend but i plan to batch prime using dextrose.
can any one tell me how much dextrose to use.or does any one have a link to a good article on carbonation. ill be using 1 litre bottles if that makes a difference. :)

Basically you need to decide how many vlomumes of co2 you want - thats the measure of carbonation levels.
That page has a drop down list for styles and recommended carbonation level.

Then you put in the amount (add an L at the end to specify litres)
Then specify what type of sugar you will prime with. Corn sugar is basically the same as dextrose AFAIK.
Alternatively, you can just put in the fermentability of the priming agent, as a percentage.

If you look for 2.4 volumes of co2 - you need to use 140g of dextrose.
