Have any of you guys that keg ever had a cornie lid and no matter what you did you could not get the fooker to seal ? Having major issues with one of my most recent kegs, the one with the IPA,that thing is leaking like OBL,i bang 4 bar in there and it just drives froth out through a lubricated NEW seal, like what da fuq ?  >:(
What i just did now and seems to be holding is i put a penny under each leg of the lid handle as i clamped it shut with the new seal, banged in 4.5 Bar(65 psi)and i saw it visibly move into place.turned off the reg valve and turned the pressure all the way down, degassed the keg, flipped the CO2 back on to keg and dialed it up to about 5 psi. Here's hoping.  ::) ;D

I was going to suggest cents, but pennies are good too.

Try twisting the lid after its closed and pressurized if you can.

spray with starsan and repeat until you get no more bubbles. My gas went before I saw this but I'll try it next time if it happens again.

I saw that same video last night while researching this problem(yes i actually did my own research lol) and i tried what you said but that lid was not moving once the gas went in. What has been suggested to me elsewhere is that i pressurise it high before clamping and it will seal itself then i clamp it shut. Yes i did use two cents, not sure why i said pennies. ::) ;D

I did not watch the video, but you could this...
Leave the Lever in the open position.
Pulling the lid closed, apply Gas and wiggle lid until sealed.

Your foaming may be either/or overfilling and very high pressure.
4.5bar is a bit much is that the limit on your reg?

Greg2013

No it isn't the limit on my reg, but that 4.5 bar is only to shut the lid, i don't keep the keg at 4.5 bar. Yes i did overfill the keg slightly but i am working on that  ;D

As John said try to pull lid up and fart co2 into it, this is one of the best ways to seal tricky lid.
Try as well bending the bars (lever) a bit with pliers.
Bad day brewing is better than good day working.

Careful with the bending though, too much and you will stress the handles.

Yep think i will leave that be for now, the two cent pieces seem to be working, less messing with it the better i think ?  ;D
