Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but while surfing for beer kit I came across Northern Brewers in the US selling bacon beer kits. Has anyone tried this? The kit includes 30ml of bacon extract for 5 gal. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated, as I am intrigued.
True story...

My wife:"You love beer so much, you should brew your own"

Me:"Okay..."

the Bierhaus has a smoked beer that has the same smoke taste as smokey bacon.
Nice for a few mouthfuls, but I couldn't imaging myself going through 23 liters

Was thinking for a party as a novelty cheers

it'd certainly be a novelty!

Sounds absolutely vile! The words "bacon extract" fill me with dread!

Haha, sorry, for some reason the American fetishisation of bacon really bothers me!

I have to imagine it would be horrible.

I've tried the Schlenkerla Raeucherbier and it was woeful stuff, it joins the short list of beers I've poured down the sink.

so far it's been
1.Tokyo
2.Infected homebrew stout
3.Rauecherbier
4.Anything with a Belgian phenol....

There's a few bacon imperial stouts going round but haven't tried any yet.
