Hey,  Just looking for some advice.  I brewed a Thomas Coopers IPA with great success and am confident enough to maybe add in another step to the process.
Maybe some steeped grain or dry hopping.  I want to go for a Red Ale and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a kit hack.

Thanks.

Garry

I like St Peter's Ruby Red kit. You can steep some carapils. Maybe 200 to 300g to give you some extra body, freshness and help head retention.

Dry hop with 25 to 50g. An English hop would be preferred for the style but I've dry-hopped this kit with cascade and it turned out well  :)

Id start with a Blonde Ale kit and steep about 120g each of crystal malt and roast barley to convert it into a red ale.

Personally I'd go with the Coopers English Bitter and steep and dryhop it with whatever you fancy. carapils/crystal + cascade makes a lovely beer.

Thanks guys.  Food for thought before payday.  Need to get a syphon and and a secondary i think.

I'd get a secondary, not just for secondary fermentation and clearing but also as a priming/bottling bucket.
It's so much easier bottling when you don't need to worry about a layer of trub  :)

I used a Finlandia ale ale kit last. I steep some carra amber malt to add to it and dry hopped with summit pellets. Turned out great! Nice and malty with a good kick of hop. Cheap too. Think the grain was €2 something and the can was a €5 at the time I think.

Oh well yeah a bottling bucket is great. In that case get one with a spigot.
