So yesterday I got to fire up our brew magic.
I brewed an Extra stout, and all seems to have gone very well. I only missed my target gravity slightly, I aimed for 1065 and hit 1063.4 so pretty pleased with that, Have it in the fermenter now sitting nicely at 17C. Can't give away too much recipe wise, but it had a nice rich grain bill, and am feeling very optimistic about this one.
The system itself is fantastic. the self regulation on the mash tun kept its heat to within 1/5th of a degree either side of my 62C mash temp. Transfer and sparge combined took about 15-20 mins and got a good rolling boil after about 30 mins. Enough time to mash out and clean the MT. The Chill wizard (PHE) that comes with the system took the wort from 96C to 17C in a matter of minutes. I will add some pictures later, but I didn't take too many as I was concious this was our first time to use the system and wanted to molly coddle it a bit. The boss man is using it today so i might be able to get a few extra pics.

Looks great. How did you measure your sg. 1063.4 is a very accurate number. :)

Commercial brewery hydrometers are much more accurate. This is Dave from Bo Bristle right?

Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
