Indigo here :)

I'm a novice homebrewer living on the northside of Dublin .I thought I would join a forum to converse with like-minded folks, exchange information/recipes, and to become a wee bit more immersed in homebrewing.

I have a background in biology - which sure comes in handy when you're manufacturing yer own plonk.  :) so far I've made elderflower wine, which turned out well. I was very pleased with it. I'm about to make banana wine, and I'm very excited about that. I have plans to make more elderflower wine in the summer, but with a more refined recipe than last time to allow for a high alcohol content while still keeping the pleasant elderflower aroma and sweetness.

...I digress. Nice to meet you all!

You are more than welcome :)

How north side are you?

We are the north county brewers and meet every month in Swords ( 2nd Tuesday so next meet is the 10th of March). You are more than welcome!

More NCB info here:

I also make country wines like E'Flower, E'Berry and all the rest that I can ferment. BTW also make beer and cider!

(Have to put my spoke in, Will) (glad I put a comma in there  ??? )

And if you're closer to the city centre, there's also Capital Brewers; next brewday this Saturday 21st in Mottly Brew, Glasnevin and next meetup Tuesday 24th in WJ Kavanagh's, Dorset Street. Also a sub-group, Northside Brewers, who meet in the Back Page in Phibsborough on (I think) the second Wednesday of the month. So plenty going on.

But anyway, welcome!  :)

Thanks very much for the welcomes! :) (I admit I haven't replied up to this point because I forgot I made an account on here. Whoops!)

And thank you for the info on the meetups! I'd be closer to the city centre so all the places Dunkel suggested would suit me fine. I may well pop along to one of them. I was recently at the Alltech event in the Convention centre, and that was very enjoyable. Did any of ye go along to it?

Elderflower wine is great! I want to make more this year. I currently have my banana wine brewing away. and it looks a state! SO much sediment. I'm gonna trawl through the boards to see if I can find any info. :)
