Hi guys,
Thought I'd say hello, been lurking on the website for the past few weeks and I'm learning loads already.
I decided to start brewing about 6 months ago after having a few Pints one night in the Franciscan well in Cork.
I got a starter kit from homebrewwest, brewed 4 kits the first wasn't great but the rest were very nice, I moved on to allgrain then, again the first wasn't great but the second was fantastic and I'm addicted now.
I work in Maynooth so maybe able to meet some of you guys from the Kildare area sometime.
Cheers Damien

If your in maynooth you could pop down to the Liffy Brewers meet at the Lucan County Bar,meeting tomorrow.

Welcome! What've you been brewing?

Damofto

Thanks,
I bought the book Clone brews by Mark and Tess Szamatulski, my first attempt was their Heinken clone but a few things went wrong on that so it wasn't very good.
I then did the Redhook ESB clone but substituted the Tettnanger & Williamette hops for Saaz and Fuggles and it came out great.
I have a Royal Oak pale ale clone fermenting at the moment as well as a Kilkenny clone recipe that I came across somewhere on the internet.
My next will be an IPA hopefully.

Glad your enjoying the all grain brewing. I'm down in Moate so not that too far. Glad to hear another midlands brewer on the forum!

6 months ago? Around when I left Rochfortbridge then!
Typical.

Do you drink in Daly's? Is the craft beer still going strong there?

Indeed, or there's the train to Leixlip and a short 66 ride to the county. Or a good 25-30 min walk.

Ah Shame would have been nice to have another partner in crime so close by. Haven't drank in Daly's in years didn't even know they did the craft beer but I'm only really starting to learn about craft beer now. did they have anything on tap, I'll check it out?

QuoteNever ceases to amaze me how many Bus Eireann bus routes there are!

Week days it's possible to get a 23 (last one 2340), 22 (last one 2310) or a 115 (last one 2340) from outside the Lucan County bar to Mullingar. So there's no reason not to come to the next Liffey Brewers meet, and you can have a few beers while you're at it!

Thanks Tube didn't even think of that, the bus stop isn't far from my place either. I could see myself doing that some day allright.
