Anyone got a little solar pump they are looking to sell? Worth a shot before I buy one from Brew Builder or Amazon.

What are planning to use it for. A solar pump will break your heart on brew days if you are trying to use it to pump sticky wort. :(

Will it do a job for pumping mash water only without giving me a broken heart? Cheers for the tip.

Water only. Any bits passing through will just stop the propeller in the pump turning. A chugger will just push the grit through.

Switch one on and as the water is pumping through, put your thumb on the outlet and you can stop the flow of water. Do that with a chugger and it will blow your head off :D

Not selling but I have two of the brewbuilder ones and very happy with them so far, would recommend them.

Do you run hot wort through it or any issues with hop particles? Or just water?

You wouldn't want any hop particle going through the brewbuilder ones,  they handle wort and some grain particles. I went through two brewbuilder ones in a year.  The bridgewater ones clog very easily.
I got a chugger in the end and haven't looked back.

My advice would be to buy a mains voltage magnetic drive pump and save yourself the heart ache

I use one for the HLT/sparge water and one to recirculate/transfer the mash with no problems (so far). Using a hop spider from the group buy for the boil so no hop material getting through.  Can't comment for whirlpooling if that's your plan.

I have one I'd be willing to sell. Bought on eBay. I'll pull out the specs for ya.

There it is. I have one brand new and never used and one used about 5 times when I had the counter flow chiller. I paid $43 dollars but I see they're cheaper now with the exchange rate. Say 10 for the new one and I might keep the other as a spare.

I'll take it off your hands for ten so.
