Bicarbonate Alkalinity as HCO3 (mg/L) = 1.22 *Bicarbonate Alkalinity as CaCO3 (mg/L)

You can get the CaCO3 here - https://www.niwater.com/water-quality-results.aspx

I'm not at home at the minute but so I'm not sure if it asked for CaCO3 on the water profile section of beersmith. So HCO3 is the same as CaCO3 if asked?

If you go into Beersmith -> Ingredients, Water, Add Water, you'll see the bottom left text box looks for Bicarbonate (HCO3).  The water report shared above gives you the measurement as mg/l CaCO3, so you will need to multiply by 1.22 before you enter it into beersmith as HCO3.

Ah, this is good! Thanks for that!

touching base again and being an absolute melter!

I've been reading on beersmiths info page about the water profiles, and I think I've got to terms with matching profiles

However can someone just confirm that my additions are in the rows beside 'difference'?

And if so, how do I make these if they are -0.2 etc etc

Your additions are the amount in grams next to the name of each chemical.

Magic, thanks for that. When you started salt additions etc to your brews, did you notice a big difference to your beers compared to when you using standard tap water?
