[Review] - DOC Revolution crown capper

Bought a DOC Revolution capper from Home Brew West recently. It shipped in a day (great service!), and it really did exceed expectations. Compared to the twin lever cappers I'd been using, this is a total breeze, with very little effort required for capping any size or shape of bottle. It just needs a quick adjustment to the plate the bottles stand on for smaller bottles, but it took a little over 6 minutes to cap 38 bottles. (Top tip: As with all bench cappers, a small bit of oil in the capping bell will help release the bottle when capped).

It's a bit of an 'investment piece' at 75 euro, but for the convenience it adds to bottling day it's well worth the spend. Solidly built, this one will last for years, and I would definitely recommend.

75 quid? ???

They used to be around 30 euro

30 euro ? LOL  ;D  That'd be nice, are you sure you're thinking of the same capper?

delzep

Might not be that brand, but the same thing yeah

I also have one of these cappers and they are a breeze to use. A little sticky to remove the bottle at the start, due most likely to the fine tolerances of the machining of the capping bell.  My 10 year old son, like doing the capping, so I leave this to him and we've had no problems.

Also have one of these and find it great. I love how easy it is to readjust the height. The plastic ones are a pain in the ass to keep adjusting when you have a spread of bottle heights.

I had my eye on it a while and the cheapest I saw was 50 on some Dutch or German sites. Would be 75 after postage then though

Doesn't look quite as fancy as the DOC one but I've this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001V28KRG/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1

Worked out at less than €50 with parcel motel (doesn't ship to Ireland). Absolute gamechanger compared to wing cappers anyway.

Chymist

Picked up that same model on adverts for €25 and immediately threw the wing capper in the bin!

There are two in the video. The red one looks a lot sturdier than the green one hence price difference
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing
