So I bought a Prius

Yesterday for the wife, in Bristol, a 2010 T-spirit model. My current car is a 2004 Civic IMA, aka Hybrid.

Anyone thinking of getting a Prius, do it now, you won't regret it! FĂșck the begrudgers! 1.8 petrol with extra torques from a fairly beefy electric motor add up to be a fairly pokey car all in. It's jammed with electronicness... it doesn't even have a key, it has a power button! And it even reverse parks itself! Slowly, but it works.

Little gear selector on the dash isn't even mechanically connected to anything, it's electronic too!

I averaged 68 miles per gallon over the full tank, including a lot of 80mph+ motorway driving! Well chuffed.

Nice wagon, Well wear!
Based on your travel plan, I thought that was what you were up to.

I did something like that before...
One way Ryanair to Stanstead.
Train/bus to Essex.
See Motorbike1, walk away.
Bought Motorbike2.
Ride Essex to Pembroke Ferry back home.

2 words.
February, frost.

Sterling is weak at the mo. too (or so I believe)

Wasn't Prius the Greek god of the erection?

Oh no, it was Priapus !!

So if you take the ap out of the gods you get a car!

I've never bought a car in Ireland, always getting them in the UK, and even once VRT is paid, still doing nicely out of it. A couple of cars I didn't pay the VRT on, as I was back and forth. Electric cars sound nice, but all the electronics in it scare me after having a megane where everything was electric and everything broke on it. I only had that car less than 2 years and ended up scrapping it, although it obviously wasn't new when I bought it. My latest car is an astra, and I purposely went for this one, as it had a very basic spec and hardly any electrics. A misers car as my mechanic noted, and he meant it as a compliment.
