Macroom Cork virgin home brewer

Hi I just met John in Midleton last Sunday, he kindly told me about this site. I've just (with two friends) made one batch of kit cider, went okay. I'm not planning to leap with both feet into the world of home brewing, but it was fun and I wouldn't mind learning a bit more about it.

Thanks all for the kind welcome. Garry I'm not sure what the kit was, I'd have to look for the evidence. It was pear and apple anyway. The process went well but the taste was a bit sickly sweet for my liking, maybe because of the pear? 'Twas my friend who ordered it, perhaps from Finland or somewhere like that. Since then we've become aware of Home Brew West.
I'll keep the 27th 26th in mind, thanks for the invitation, though not sure yet if I could make that. The Franciscan Well sure is a nice place to meet up though!

it's probably the Finlandia Cider Kit, this is made with both apple and pear. I've not tried it, but the only other 'sickly sweet' kit i've tried is the Coopers Ginger Beer. Too much sweetener in it
