Keg Poppets

After having a leaky keg I'm learning all sorts of things about them.

1. The typical "keg O ring replacement kits" don't actually replace ALL of the O rings in a keg. There is another o ring hidden under the poppet valves themselves.  -These O rings are specific to the exact type of poppet you have and there are MANY slightly different poppet types.
2. There are SUBTLE differences in keg posts and there are "A" and "B" types and a rarer "C" type; you will want to look up pictures online and compare side by side to your keg posts.  -The different post styles are NOT compatible and you will ruin the threads if you try to force on on another style keg.
3. There are now "universal poppet valves" they're dirt cheap and work in all keg post types; you can quickly and easily convert all of your kegs over and then only ever worry about buying one type of o-ring when they go bad. -Some of the universal poppet valves are part plastic; I'd recommend avoiding them.

I got two of the universal ones off a friend for a trial. One was a weeney bit narrower than the other. The small one worked but the bigger one leaked when a disconnect went on. I might try them again if I can get the same sizes.
The smaller one seemed to be raised that little bit more  in the post and seemed to be the better fit.

It's a nightmare trying to work out what you need let alone what you have women out comes to those bits and pieces.
