Why can I upload 5 megB of photos but only a max 500K of one word doc?

In the land of terrabyte storage, not being able to upload one document for the benfit of evetyone is a PITA.

Also why can't we pm attatchements!

The only way to communicate outside these rules is to use e-mail!

Youd be surprised - we only have a paltry 20gb of storage, of which 4gb is in use.

Let google docs or dropbox do the heavy lifting !!

In reality - using the forum for file storage isnt a great idea - threads get lost in the mists of time

If - for example  ;)  -  NCB had a shared folder on google drive that stored all relavent documents / pdfs / jpgs etc

and all our members had access ..

- that would work and it would always be easy to find going forward..

Will I have setup a NCB shared drive - all sorted.

I hear what you say "Oh Dube-eeus One".

I quite agree with the need to conserve our 20 gb and also restrict stupidly HUGH photos!

But what about docs and xls - stuff that is useful but is not displayed on screen?

My point is I can upload 5Mb of photos but not one 600 kb document!

Why not a limit of 5mb PER upload?

Why not copy/paste the document as a post or wordpress page? it generally doesn't take much formatting unless it's image/table heavy.

James' idea of a file-dump is good though, but why not have an NHC file-dump instead of regional clubs?
Then a file can be uploaded there and simply linked off a thread.
