Always keep a eye out for a bargain and saw this. I've been using mine for a year or so and have had no issues.

That's some serious value. Free delivery to NI too :)

What's your experience with the element of yer yolk? Does she cut out at all? How's the rolling boil?

Worth even buying it as a spare. 40L. Like I say, pretty damn good.

Whatever it is, I'm against it.

They've come down in price a LOT!

There's quite a few users of the these things on JimsBeerKit, using them as HLTs and boilers. And there's lots of threads on the site about how to bypass thermostats, fitting ball valve taps etc.

Barry I have heard of issues with the element before. It appears that if you don't scrub the base after use and allow a build up of gunk it won't reach boiling point. My own fault for not using hop bags I guess. The only other issue I had was when I was brewing Al fresco (that day we had a summer....member) it cut out a bit only because the extension lead couldn't cope with the power surges. Fairly heated up the old rubber cable. Plugging it straight into a socket I've had no problemos. It has a great rolling boil. I've no excuse for my beer tasting keek with this at my side.

Thats an excellent buy at that price. Id be tempted to buy a spare. Its an excellent biab setup with a little bit of modification

I use one for Biab. I sometimes have issues with element cutting out due to crud build up over the element. It can be grist specific
