Dry hopping in demijohn ?

I've got a batch of beer in a 1 gallon demijohn that I intend to dry hop with pellets in a of couple of days. Before bottling I'll be racking to a bottling bucket, and want to keep as much hop matter out as possible. I've read some of the pros and cons of adding hop pellets directly to the demijohn, adding them in a nylon bag, or even making a hop tea, but am still undecided which method is best.

I'm wondering what approach others have used to make this task a little easier?

I'd be careful with a nylon bag, as could expand and block the top of the DJ, and if there's any CO2 left could explode. Since they are pellets, I would just put them in loose, and they should drop to the bottom, and just be careful when racking.

yeah, loose will be fine. if any stay in suspension, just smack the side to agitate them and they should drop. You might have some floaters but you'll be racking from below them.
Hop tea works well too though, and it would avoid some hassle.

Thanks for the advice, beer is now happily bottled without any issues  :)

Dry hopped by putting the pellets in loose and for the most part they just sank to the bottom and stayed there. A few small floaters, but they weren't an issue at all. The beer is a SNPA clone, and the dry hopping (with cascade) gave it a nice fresh hop kick. Looking forward to downing this one in the new year  ;)
