Last time I brewed my bazooka screen came off in the kettle and when I was cooling the wort, all the hops got jammed in the outlet and plate chiller.

This time, I planned om putting a jubilee clip on the inside of the kettle to keep the screen in place. Is this a bad idea?

Qs

Sounds like a fine plan to me. My bazooka is just clipped on in my kettle, no issues to date.

Cool. Wasn't sure there. Off to woodies so:-)

Jubilee clips are probably made of steel covered in galvanize (mainly zinc). I would not use these in the boil kettle because of the acidic nature of the wort.

Thanks Shanna. I've been to Woodies  :-[ but, I really don't want to poison anyone so I'll have to figure out another solution! Thanks for the heads-up.

You can get stainless steel ones, cost around €2-50 each.

Could you strip some copper wire and tighten it with that?
