Sludge on top of beer after fermentation

Hey Everyone,

Brewing first batch with the APA BIAB kit from geterbrewed. All seemed to go well with the actual brewing, OG was pretty much bang on. Has had 2 weeks to ferment and the airlock over past 2-3 has slowed right down. When I open the fermenter to get ready for bottling I saw this

Its a pretty clumpy cream sludge on the top. Is this anything to be worried about ? I am thinking something may have gone wrong.

Also FG was close to the one outlined with the kit

Cheers,

Dave

Your OK may be some yeast not yet dropped out. Taste the beer and smell it too. :)

Cheers, was expecting to have some yeast on the top but not that much. It tasted ok, but the colour definitely seemed a little off. Paler than expected. In saying that, first time doing it so I would be trusting my senses just yet. Bottled it off, so will wait and see in two weeks!

Wow, I've never seen that before. Definitely looks like yeast though.

Would have been ok with a little bit like the one above. This stuff was over a cm deep and like clotted cream. Definitely yeast though :)

Why ? Just wondering is this expected with that yeast ? Should I look for different yeast on next run ?

US-05 sometimes does that on me. Beer always tastes fine though.

Perfect Cheers for that
