How do, I'm looking to make about 5 ltr of ale.
I have 3 kg of Maris Otter, 500g Rye, and the hop pellets i have are saaz, challenger and simcoe . And us-05 yeast
Will ferment it in a 5 lt. water bottle.
Could someone give me a rough recipe please.
I want to start with smaller amounts to limit waste from inevitable mistakes.

I did a St. Peters stout kit which came out fantastic by way of experience

Phelix,

Its a rule of thumb that "small is fidley" A 5L brew would be difficult to manage without the corrcet kit.

However as a generalisation of what you have (lets double it to:) 6Kg of MO and 1kg of Rye would make for a big bodied 5 gallon batch (so lets say 25 litres at about 1070)

So fo 5 litres:

1.2 kg MO
200gms Rye.

Hops are another matter but for a rye beer like above they are not particularly hoppy!
