Automating an induction stove

I have two induction stoves, 1 from lidl and the other from aldi. Very handy for small volumes. Has anyone automated one? I'd love to temp control one but they require buttons to be pushed when they first power on.

I have a buffalo one which is great for the 40 L pot I have. It's turned on when the knob is turned so could be left ready to go. Could an STC be used for this? Apparently fitting a PID it was causing problems due to the way it works.

I'm thinking i'm going to need to open it up and put something between the buttons on the front. Maybe an arduino job or something like that. The issue is it doesnt start when first plugged in and the buttons are all touch ones

I think you're going  to have a hard time. My induction hop turns off to zero at the slightest change. I dunno if you could have a hob go from off to heating with a pid etc.  It would just reset to zero.

Surely there's a low voltage control circuit internally that turns on and off the element.
Maybe tap into this

Yes. I've the same one and have used it with an stc1000 to kettle sour

It's great way of heating for BIAB. Now you've got me thinking about kettle souring.

I do, I also have an arduino uno and a beaglebone sitting there. I have been googling a bit and what puts me off is that these stoves seem to often have hookins of higher voltage in and around the buttons and micro controller. I dont really feel like messing with mains voltage
