Where's that trub cone

DEMPSEY

Trub cone. This beer is a Dunkelweizen so there is wheat in it thus adding to the trub.

Sweet looking brewery!

Are you just using 4 stc 1000s to control the temps? Setup looks good, did it cost much to get setup?

DEMPSEY

Yes 4 stc,s.Don't ask how much I have spent in case I incriminate myself. If I was starting again and know what I know now what not to do,it would be fairly cheap. ;)

Great to see you brewing again

Nice set up Brian, I bet it's a great brew shed now.
Can we have close pic of your hand held refractometer please? Just wondering what fancy piece of kit it is.
Bad day brewing is better than good day working.

Looks brilliant 🍻

doing a 75 minute mash and target was 64.4C with 5 minutes to go my HERMS was holding the mash at 64.3C. How can I make it more efficient  >:D

Hey Dempsey, how easy is it to clean those larger vessels? Lovely setup by the way!
Every little helps

DEMPSEY

I have a handy way of cleaning up. I made different dip tubes for both the mash ton and kettle. When the boil is on I dig out the dry mash grains into waste bags and then swap my copper tube set up for a single dip tube. when the bulk of the grain is removed I wash the bits off the sides and whirlpool the lot then as the dip tube sucks out all the cleaning water it takes the bits of grains with it. :)

What sort of element do you have in your boiler and hlt?
