Recently I heard some somebody else say something similar about Pliny.. great beer but not a million miles from any other decent IPA. Funny how some beers seem to achieve this legendary status.

Well go back a few years and there wasn't the range of ipas being made either. I think it's just a case of the market catching up.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

Hop Bomb

Defo. Ive been lucky enough to have it a handful of times. Pliny is top drawer. Some tasty skills to brew a dipa as delicate as that, day in day out. Im sure a lot of similar ipas are just that, similar - coz they copied a masterful beer & brewer. No shame in it. If it aint broke etc

On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

A 2L growler of Brew By Numbers 05/05 Simcoe and Chinook. A wheat IPA not too heavy on the late additions. At 6.8% it's an easy drinker.
