Hi All,

My name is John and I'm new to the home brew scene and really enjoying it. I have brewed a Coopers Canadian Blonde kit and just bottled a Toohey's Australian Larger.

I have seen videos online about the Coopers IPA and would like to try this out with the 2-Row etc...... But my question is this a bit to ambitious for my third brew?

I have purchased some Muttons spray malt and plan on doing the Coopers Mexican Larger with this 500g spray malt and 500g dextrose. I also got some liquid DME extract from HomeBrewWest but am unsure about using this yet?

I have got all the kit and equipment from them and they are very helpful, really helpful infact.

I would love some feedback on the above and would like to attend your next meet up if that's ok?

Kind Regards

John

Hi john where are you from? Try sending Tube a pm on here regards meetings etc. Well done on your first two brews which i assume turned out ok? I banjaxed my first two by trying to do too much too soon so tbh i would advise you to keep it simple. Follow the kit instructions exactly except perhaps use brew enhancer instead of sugar. ;D

No need to bother Tube.
The meetings usually take place on the third Saturday of the month in the Revolution bar Waterford (watch this section for up dates closer to the date).
All are welcome.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the advise and yes the coopers went well!! The Toohey's will have to wait. I'm in New Ross so not far away from Waterford.

I think I'll do two more kits before I try the partial!

Good idea, i made the mistake of trying to fiddle too much and do too much too soon. I would estimate i need at least 4-6 kit and kilo brews under my belt before i experiment any further. You may be different and get it faster, only you will know that.

Ciderhead and I are brewing a European lager week or so after the competition in my place, he going to see where i am going wrong(cheers m8). If you could get somebody more experienced that you don't feel like killing that might help too. ;D 17
