Almost there - the final 6 dates are ..

If you didnt get an email - perhaps I have your details incorrect - please email your NAME / FORUM NAME and EMAIL to BJCP@nationalhomebrewclub.ie

Great response- should be a pretty special course.

There are rumours of some rare, interesting beers as well !!    ;)

I had that once it cleared up with a cream no problems
I know geraniol can attract honey bees as it is produced in scent glands to help them mark hive entrances.
Whats the other one?
Edit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geosmin
smell after a rainstorm, love that smell...interesting

Folks,

some good news, we have secured the upstairs in the BrewDock for the BJCP course this year and we are now in a position to start registration for the course.

The start time is 11am on a Saturday and the 6 classes will run on

August 6th, August 13th, August 20th   a break and then September 17th, September 24th, October 1st

You should have received an email - like this post - with a link to the spreadsheet. If you did not  simply email bjcp@nationalhomebrewclub.ie  ASAP and we will sort ya.

To register for this course – you must pay in full for the classes that you are going to attend. The classes must be paid for in advance, this ensures we buy the correct volume of beer and other resources. Once you have paid, dont forget to update the sheet in the email.

A new thing this year.. You will get notified a week before the class with a beer to get, you need to judge it, fill out a sheet and bring the scoresheet to the class.
This will help you to gauge how you are coming along and hopefully improve your judging ability.

Best of Luck

NHC BJCP Team !

Are these going to be easy enough to get?

Bud and Heino are become harder and harder to find, for discretion ask for a brown paper bag when leaving the offie tho :P

molc

Yeah they should be common examples of a style. Something like Sierra Nevada for example, or one of the english beers in tesco. Even some of the belgian beers are sold in Supervalu around the country now.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

Okay cool. McHugh's is a bit out of my way :)

I'm going to have to pull out of this unfortunately. All the best with it guys
fermenting - peach wheat, mango wheat

drinking - whiskey stout

Partridge9

No worries - thanks for letting us know

First class is next saturday - homework beer is OHara Pale Ale

If anyone has a Pale Ale homebrew, please PM, we are going to try to judge at least one homebrew per session.

Hopefully everyone got the email - if you didnt please PM and I'll get you on the list.

Ok folks

we have most paid up now - looks like we have some crackers for the weekend.

We have been onto the drinkstore and they are going to source some beers that are normally outside their catelogue, so we should have a very interesting selection everyweek.

If you are on the fence or havent paid - or paid via bank, please PM if you didnt get an email today.

We are ordering tomorrow for the first class.

We are going to try to get a list of all the homework beers for the course, so people can get them at once and score them over the weeks.

Start time is 11:00, finish 12:30, 13:00 at the latest - as it will start getting noisy !

I am pretty sure we have the 'burger and pint' deal for a tenner, afterwards, for those not in a rush away.

Should be a blast
