I'm lucky I practice snare with left hand and hold my homebrew in right, my wife is extremely tolerant ( think the wine made her tolerant!) and my neighbour is completly deaf.

Damn, that guitar would be worth a few bills now, that photo must be 80 years old or so ;)

Here's a simple recording done on my phone thrown up on soundcloud.

A cover version of Pink Floyd - Fearless

http://soundcloud.com/eoin-magrath/fearless-cover-at-tyrrelstown

I've only learned this three days ago, so the singing could still do with some work, as could the guitar. Tis alright for a bit of messing about in the lounge.

It's played on the acoustic which is tuned ggdgbb for anyone who is interested.

Jesus me ears!!

It's early Pink Floyd, from the album Meddle, good old psychadelic music.

Good job there.. Great song! Think it's the Kop stand at the beginning/end before a Pool match on the recorded track! What are the chances of a Homebrew competition / meet with music from the same brewers!? I'd be up for it. No pics to upload atm, but i've a Gibson SG Special - my baby - had it since I was 16 :) (lol..am only 24 now, but i saved up for ages for it!)
Thinking of changing out the pickups for something from Seymour Duncan... Opinions?
To brew: Bohemian Lager, Munich Dunkel, Oatmeal / Milk Stout, Hefeweizen
Fermenting: Imperial IPA
Conditioning:
Serving:Munich Helles (Helles Bells), Oatmeal Stout

I've never wanted an electric guitar before I played this telecaster, I really play mostly acoustic, but once I played this tele, I had to have it. I bought it off my brother when he was tight for cash, I reckon the price can only increase as time goes on.

I like Gibson, but they're so not my thing when it comes to actually playing, that said I would not refuse a Les Paul  or an SG for that matter, but I don't think I'd play it as much as I play my tele, simply because the tele is so versatile soundwise.

Basically I'd have no opinions on pickup upgrades, cos it sounds like you're into metal and you'd be better off chatting to Shane (Tube) he'd be the man for those sounds you're looking for :)

Yea - a guitar can do that to you alright - have to have it kinda feeling! I've always been partial to a bit of Tele action, but haven't got the funds to part with just yet. I do love the single coil for some blues and rhythm playing - it just stands out so well, such definition and clarity, but with a great measure of warmth too. The humbucker's on my SG are great for lots of things, but just slightly too meaty at times.

You're right - you got a great bargain with that guitar, it will only increase..and the finish on it is superb..really love seeing the natural grain - no need for lacquer with wood that nice.

What draws me to the SG in terms of playability is the neck scale length and access. The neck is incredibly easy to play - it's just the right size for my hands, and it's also very comfortable. That and the weight, or rather, lack of.. I've played many a Les Paul and ended up with a sore back and shoulders.. Can't imagine what it'd be like after playing it for a few hours of a set. Nevertheless, a classic rock / blues tone, and its one of the best selling guitars for a reason - it looks and sounds great.

No, i'm not particularly into metal tbh. I was more so putting the question out about the pickups in the hope that someone had a recommendation based on their own experience :) I also play a lot of acoustic, quite a bit of alternate picking stuff. I really enjoy different style blues, delta, traditional too. Play some jazz fingerstyle as well. I like playing the lyrical melody on the guitar - like transcribing it. I'm lead guitarist in the band im in though, so not too much acoustic there - I do like to rock out a lot! But I listen to a lot of different music - Hendrix, Led Zep, AC/DC, Soundgarden, Leo Kottke, Marvin Gaye, Nuno Bettencourt, John Martyn, quite a bit of electronic music too. So am all over the place tbh :P

What other stuff are you into? Pink Floyd anyway ;-)
