New Year, new man cave/ shed, means another attempt at home brewing! Even left space for a brewing fridge!

Did a couple of brews several years ago, but picked the wrong styles and then family life and the increased availability of decent  beer off the shelf meant that part of the incentive was gone! It has (well hopefully) helped me developed the palate though!

Cold shed brewing, so did a bodge job on the a STC1000 last night using the instructions on here (too small a box, and too big a connection block, but got there in the end) - it appears to work, using the halogen heater I had on, so if the brewbelt survived in the loft I'll be good to go.  Hoping to get the first kit (Coopers A IPA) on over the weekend, with a dry hop planned (ignoring the advice to do kits unhacked first!).  Short term I'll be sticking with Kits/ Kit Hacks, but like the idea of extracts!

I plan to "bottle" some of this brew to polypins as well, as I reckon between me and the family (I have managed to convert the missus and in laws away from commercial muck as well) I reckon we'll get through 5 litres in time before it goes off. I also like the idea of beer engine, which people do successfully with polypins.

Welcome to brewing!
