Brix reading And sg reading don't match

Lads,
Fermentation has finished and I'm getting different readings for brix and sg.
Hydrometer is reading 1.012 ish but the brix reading converts to 1.023.
The beer does taste a better t seeet but not sure

Anyone had this problem and which is correct?

What are you using for the brix reading? if it's a refractometer, you have to account for the alcohol and use some other formulas. Here's some reading http://beersmith.com/blog/2010/11/02/how-to-use-a-refractometer-brix-and-beer-brewing/
