Connecting the hose to an immersion chiller

I'm getting a bit tired of lugging my boiler from the garden up onto the sink in to the utility so its close enough to the tap.
I'm currently using the tubing that came with my syphon and a handy adapter to attach that to the tap.

However my back is not thanking me for all this heavy lifting.

So...what's the best way to attach a hose to an immersion chiller? One of those metal clamps you tighten with a flathead screwdriver?

Any idiot proof help would be very much appreciated

I bought a submersible pump, so one end tubing to pump, other to chiller, then I just drop the pump into a bucket of water, sink etc and pump away. I use the hot water that comes out the other side to wash all equipment.

I used two jubilee clips either side and some sugru to be sure there's no leaks.

Never a problem.

I've just used Amazon links because I'm on my mobile and it's easier than asking pictures, but you could pick up all of those items in a garden centre for 10-15 euros (providing you already have the hose).

My pressure isn't great but I cool 25L in about 10 mins and keep the runoff water for cleaning all my brew bits afterwards.

I have a short piece of hose attached to the "in" side of the chiller with a jubilee clip and at the other end of the short hose, one of these boyos

Then on the end of the hose coming from the tap, I have one of these

Then on the "out" side of the chiller, just a short length of hose attached with a jubilee clip.

My hose and chiller pipes are roughly the same size (15mm I think) so it's a tight fit and I've had no leaks Be careful with the clips though, if your chiller is copper, you can easily crush the pipe if the clip is tightened too much.

Cheers for the advice lads, exactly what I was looking for. I shall be taking a trip to woodies tomorrow for some jubilee clips and hose connectors

In my opinion, jubilee clips on the kitchen tap are crap (generally just too much pressure and fiddly.

Get the screw in tap adapter and honestly it's brilliant. You unscrew the water filter (pretty much standard on any mixer tape in the last 10 years) and screw on the adapter. Then you just screw on the yellow male hose adapter onto it when every you need to use the hose. It's perfect.
Never leaks, always stays on..no hassle...

Jubilee clips on the tap end are a bit of a disaster, but work ok on the chiller as you don't mind the odd leek on there

Any inclines or steps between your brewing spot in the garden and the sink? You could put your rig on a wheeled trolley.

I have a short length of garden hose attached to the garden tap, then silicon hosing inserted into that - it fits exactly without any drips.  the silicon is then jubilee clipped onto the chiller with some more silicon on the "out" side of the chiller. It all depends on the diameter of your chiller and hose though.

I use silicone tubing that fits both my chiller and tap without any connections or clips. It makes it super easy to clean and store everything and i've no leaks anywhere.
