It is nearly time to start planning your hop planting! Some of the other guys here will know alot more about it than me but I came across a couple of links to rhizomes sellers in the UK:

http://www.willingham-nurseries.co.uk/hop3.html

http://www.essentiallyhops.co.uk/acatalog/Hop_Plants.html

http://www.aplus-hops.co.uk/

Does anyone have rhizomes to share?

When is it time to plant the rhizomes?

I know that some of you using hop cuttings instead of rhizomes and that these do not need to be done until the first shoots come up, when is that?

Good man. I've been meaning to ask the same questions.
Wouldn't mind growing (at least some of) my own hops.
One question to add though, which hops grow best/worst here?

Rossa

I will have lots to share.

I'll be lifting them within a month. Will happily take a nice bottle of beer in exchange!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I am in the middle of fixing up my garden - whole house needed renovation and 3 years later its only now that i am getting the garden done - so was thinking i could keep an area for some hops to grow - So at this stage of the year have i missed the boat for getting something in the ground?

thanks

You could get them in the ground alright and let them get established, but it might be too late for you to get anything from them this year.
Go for it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

yeah sure worth a punt, are all the on-line places to order much of a muchness in this regard?
