I'm Joe, based in East Cork.  I started doing kit brews a few years ago, mostly with the intention of saving money on beer.

Let me just wait a second for ye to finishing laughing at that part...

All done?  OK.  Well, I recently stepped up my game a bit. Invested in some BIAB gear and built a simple fermentation fridge (Inkbird controller and a reptile heating mat, nothing fancy).  I'm supposed to be making some bottled brews for my upcoming wedding and the kits just weren't cutting it.  I have one BIAB batch complete now, and although I may be slightly biased, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say it is definitely the greatest beer that has ever been brewed by anyone ever.  I have my second effort chilling in the fridge awaiting bottling on Sunday, and plans for many more.

Anyway, all this has gotten me interested in more projects and plans and the like, and I stumbled on this website while googling random stuff.  Hoping to get some ideas and suggestions, to meet a few people, and to improve my processes etc.  Thanks for having me!

Hi Joe,
Welcome on board.
You made a mistake there.
I brewed the most awesome, bestest beer in the world ever, sorry!
East Cork, Eh?!
There's a few of us around Midleton meet randomly, do the odd open brewday.
Seeing as the beer scene in Midleton is so poor, we do excursions to the city.
Keep an eye on Rebel brewers forum for meet up City side and out East.

Well that's typical luck on my part now.  I've been living in Midleton nearly three years, and just as I'm planning a move to Cobh I find out there's other brewers around!  Ah well, Cobh isn't exactly a million miles away.  I'll keep an eye on that Rebel Brewers forum so and next time ye're having an event I might pop along and say hi.  We could settle the "Bestest beer in the history of ever" question then too, if I have any left by then!

There's a lad Joey in Cobh, goes by Cobhlanger, no reason why you can't team up and do brew days etc.
