Hi all, long time member but only getting back into it after some time away. I've recently started building an 8 keg kegerator (crazy I know) I was given the two gas canisters below from a friend who found them in a shed of a house he bought. Just wondering will they work with the regulators that are on sale of the homebrew websites and also will I have any trouble getting them filled? I'm planning on having two of the taps on nitro so that's why I'd like to have both set up. Cheers Andy

How old are they. I think that all these tanks had to be retested and certified before they can be refilled. They have a female connection so the reg needs to be male fitting.

I've no idea how old they are the only thing I can find is the sticker below on the smaller of the two tanks but outside of that I'm clueless to how old they are. There is gas in them so I know I will have to release that before any refills.

The cylinders used here are ex- fire extinguishers.  They change the head to a valve and take out the dip tube so it takes off the top gas not the liquid layer.
If the cylinder is over 10 years might be hard to get it filled, but might reuse the valve.
Hard to transport pressurised cylinders but talk to a friendly local fire extinguisher service guy ( not a national company). And they might help and arrange transport.

You need a proper bar regulator for those as they have a female thread connection
Also designed for higher pressures
